IT Support Engineer – Tech Driven Trading

Quant Capital is urgently looking for a Graduate IT Support Engineer to join our high profile client.

This role is open to fresh graduates and up to 2 years of experience in industry.

Our client is an extremely successful algorithmic trading firm and liquidity provider. They trade a number of products across FX, Equities and Crypto. They use a combination of proprietary data, superior technology, and aggressive execution to achieve their trading objectives.

IT Support Engineers focus on providing technical support for end-users in the trading environments. The team supports all infrastructure used by people from Windows Servers to Linux Desktops. To this end, you will work closely with colleagues in the Linux, Windows, Cybersecurity and Network administration groups to monitor a vast array of systems and troubleshoot problems in real-time.

The firm has a mixed Windows and Linux environment spread across a physical and virtual computing landscape over three continents. Desktop support engineers play a crucial role in ensuring that they can meet their core business goals 24 hours a day.

I am looking for someone who has played with computers or technology since childhood, you have an appetite to code and an interest in hardware.

Junior Support Engineers should have:

  • Up to 18 months years experience, graduates are welcome to apply.
  • Solid foundation in computer science and networking principles.
  • Computer science degree or related from a top University
  • Technical strength in networking, programming, or system administration.
  • Knowledge of Windows Desktop/Server Operating Systems and ideally Linux
  • Understanding of Active Directory, Group Policy and other common Windows administration sub-systems.
  • Understanding of how to diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues at desktop, server and network level.
  • Powershell or Python
  • Ability to analyse and deconstruct technical problems.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
  • Passionate about technology
  • Highly motivated, self-starter who is eager to grow within our organization
  • Ability to manage projects independently

This role requires a candidate who can sort problems gently without any downtime. This is a high demand environment where time delay causes profit loss.
