Linux Engineer Systematic Fund

£150,000 Plus Bonus

Quant Capital is urgently looking for a Linux Engineer Admin to join our high profile client.

 Our client is a $7 billion strong automated Hedge fund with performance figures of 17%.

The fund operates a systematic and high frequency strategy and as a Linux Expert you will work closely with both teams. At present they are restructuring 2 complex large data problems across a 2 terabyte database. You will work closely with both the development and research team often working with one other to solve a problem that combines math’s and technology.

The Linux Sys Admin will be responsible for ensuring the smooth running, stability and development of the research, development and trading infrastructure. You will ensure operational excellence by handing over projects into production that are fit for purpose.

Design, build and implement new environments.

This role suits people from outside or inside financial services in complex data business or those who simply have a passion for the core of linux infrastructures. You will work in a team of the best minds in the market on problems that interest many.

Linux Engineers MUST have:

  • BSc or Masters or PhD in Computer Science / Maths / Stats
  • At least 4 years’ professional system administration experience in a Linux/Unix environment supporting business-critical systems
  • Ideally Kernel Tuning
  • C or Python or Perl
  • Experience with Linux troubleshooting and tuning utilities
  • Experience with virtualization; KVM, VirtualBox
  • Experience with network operating systems
  • Linux administration, especially Redhat
  • Nagios
  • Ideally Build/deployment technologies, such as Maven, CMake and Rake
  • An appetite for delivering solutions to complex problem
