Linux TechOps Engineer – FinTech / Trading

Quant Capital is urgently looking for a Linux TechOps Engineer to join our high profile client.

Our client is a well known global financial software business providing to the trading platform market. No experience of finance is needed but much can be gained.

The successful Linux Engineer will have demonstrated technical achievement working with Linux systems, relational databases and web technologies; the ability to thrive in a fast paced environment and most importantly a commitment to exceptional team work and customer service. The role involves both supporting deployed production systems and participating in the design and development of enhancements.

This position requires close collaboration with their software engineers in an effort to best align technical solutions with the schedules and analytic needs of various strategies.

The Linux TechOps Engineer will be responsible for:

  • Design and Develop tools to support and monitor production systems, this includes tools to manage a large suit of automated processes.
  • Running a hosted ASP, a 24/7, mission-critical financial trading and risk management system.
  • Monitoring/troubleshooting large suite of automated processing for market and position data.
  • Monitoring overall system performance and reliability, including application/computation, database and communication layers.
  • Participate in design and development of software and processes to enhance the breadth, quality, performance and reliability of services offered to clients.
  • Collaborate with DBA, Unix Systems Administrators and development teams to further the goals of high quality and reliability of the ASP system.

Operations Engineers MUST have:

  • At least 4 years’ professional Linux systems experience
  • Expert on a Linux Command Line
  • A bright mind (usually BSc but doesn’t have to be)
  • Python or Bash
  • Docker
  • SQL/NOSQL/MongoDB
  • Experience working with mission-critical production systems
  • GIT/Bitbucket experience
  • Financial Experience would be a plus.
